Informal Suicide Interventions Objectives To realize the prevalence of suicide risk among youth To recognize suicide risk and protective factors To respond to suicide risk informally using the SHIFT model To resist traumatization by practicing care of the caregiver Description This experiential course on Suicide Prevention is designed to offer providers specific and concrete responses for people presenting with suicide ideation. Participants will increase personal comfort with this difficult content and develop confidence in their ability to support individuals struggling with the hopelessness of suicidality. Best-practice models reflected in both SAMHSA and CDC material are key sources for this curriculum.
