More About This Course

Course Description New to supervision or wanting to reconnect with why you do things the way you do with supervisees? This course supports your effort to implement supervision that is both developmentally appropriate and ethically sound. While this course was developed with clinical counseling supervisors in mind, it may be useful to those supervising or mentoring in other interdisciplinary behavioral health settings. The course treats supervision as a gatekeeping role that is simultaneously relational, evaluative, ecological, and ethically accountable. The ethics framework is drawn from the American Counseling Association (ACA). Self-compassion will be offered as a practice to develop supervisee insight. This course blends adult learning strategies, including concise didactic content, experiential practices, real-life applications, and opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing. Come join this next-level learners circle! Learner Objectives By the end of the course, participants will be able to: Describe the roles a supervisor plays throughout a supervisee's development. Identify stages of supervisee development and associated tasks. Determine at least three ethical dilemmas in the supervision process. Implement self-compassion practices for supervisee reflection and growth.
