This is an experiential training for counselors, social workers, and other mental health providers that weaves together the neuroscience of stress, research on burnout, and methodologies for healing and reducing allostatic load. Together, we will differentiate between stress and stressors and explore how chronic exposure to both affects the nervous system. You will be able to engage with and identify brief evidence‑informed practices to reduce the impacts of stress and stressors. You will also practice designing a personalized AWE plan and think about how to develop one with clients and individuals you work with. This course blends adult learning principles by including concise didactic content, experiential practices, real-life applications, and opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing. See you there!
