More About This Course

Course Description Are you starting to see AI pop up everywhere and wondering what the road map is for using it professionally? You are not alone. This course is designed for those working in the mental health and social services fields. It will prepare you to evaluate ethical and trauma-informed issues when incorporating artificial intelligence into your work with individuals and groups. Course content is grounded in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) principles for the use of artificial intelligence in health care and organized through the lens of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) guidelines for trauma-informed care. This course blends adult learning strategies, including concise didactic content, experiential practices, real-life applications, and opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing. Come join us! Learning objectives By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: Articulate appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI in mental health care. Evaluate ethical dilemmas involving AI use. Apply an ethical decision-making framework to real-world AI cases. Identify vulnerable populations for using AI as the sole mental health provider. Create a ‘human-in-the-loop’ plan for clients using AI at home.
