Emergence is a noun that goes back to the Latin root emergere, meaning "bring to light," and it came into English in the 17th century. Just as something comes to light or shows up where there was darkness or nothing before, an emergence happens.

Mikahla Beutler is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 15 years experience. She has seen the wide range of challenges families and individuals face and works whole-heartedly with her clients to reduce pain and suffering by increasing resiliency and hope. In one Hopi story of creation, Emergence is the moment of coming into a newly created world to have another chance.  Mikahla believes strongly in second chances and positive change that comes from effort, connection, and a sense of worthiness.

She taught graduate counseling students at Highlands University, supervised counselors in training and developed programming through SKY Center, a family therapy training program of New Mexico Suicide Intervention Project (NMSIP), and served as an Independent school counselor for over a dozen years.
